The Municipality of Venice has confirmed that the introduction of the Landing Contribution is now postponed to April 2021.
The contribution was initially supposed to start on 1st July 2020, but it has been postponed due to the Coronavirus outbreak and the strict lock-down measures still in place in Italy.

The Municipality of Venice has now published the 2020 stamp calendar of the landing contribution rate that will be introduced from the 1st July.
Venice is experiencing the highest tide in 50 years. The exceptionally intense “acqua alta” peaked at 1.87m (6ft), according to the tide monitoring centre. Since 1923, when the records began, only once the tide has been higher, reaching 1.94m in 1966.
On the 2nd of June 2019 an out-of-control cruise ship collided into a dock and a tourist riverboat on a busy Giudecca Canal in Venice, injuring 5 people.
As part of the #EnjoyRespectVenezia campaign started in 2017 by Mayor Luigi Brugnaro, the Municipality of Venice has presented a plan to introduce a new entry fee for all the daily visitors not staying in Venice overnight.
